Dermlite DL200 Hybrid - Directions for Use
Intended Use
The DL200 Hybrid is intended for medical use to illuminate body surfaces for non-invasive examination of intact skin. Use is restricted to professional healthcare providers in clinical settings.
CAUTION: Do not look directly into the LED light. Patients should close their eyes during exams.
CAUTION: Do not use in fire or explosion-prone environments.
WARNING: This product may expose you to methylene chloride and hexavalent chromium, known to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
Device Overview
The DL200 Hybrid is a smartphone-compatible pocket dermatoscope with 10x magnification, supporting polarized and non-polarized light, and can be used with or without skin contact.
Operation
- Position ~25 mm above the skin with LEDs aimed at the area of interest.
- Press the Power button (P) to turn on. Look through the lens from 25–50 mm away.
- To focus, move the device or use the Dial (D) to extend the Spacer (S) for contact dermoscopy.
- Toggle light mode using the Mode button (M). Polarized mode activates the Polarization Indicator (PI).
- The device shuts off automatically after 3 minutes or can be turned off manually via the Power button.
IceCap®
Attach a disposable IceCap (IC) over the Faceplate (FP) for infection control. Remove after use.
Removing Spacer and Faceplate
- Spacer: Rotate Dial (D) counter-clockwise past resistance, then pull off. To reattach, insert Spacer legs and press down while rotating clockwise.
- Faceplate: Pull off from Spacer at fingernail notches. Snap to reattach.
Photography
Use DermLite MagnetiConnect® adapters (sold separately) to attach to cameras or smartphones. Clean the faceplate and extend the Spacer before use.
Battery and Charging
CAUTION: Use only the official 3.7V 1800 mAh battery from DermLite.
- Battery status is shown via 4 LEDs (Charge Indicator - CI).
- Charge using the provided USB-C cable. Pulsing LEDs indicate charging progress.
- All 4 LEDs illuminate when fully charged.
- Replace battery after years of use or if performance degrades.
Battery Replacement
Use a screwdriver to open the snap-on Cover (C) at the notch (N). Disconnect the Battery Plug (BP), insert a new battery (B), and reconnect. Close the Cover securely.

Maintenance
CAUTION: Do not modify this equipment.
Clean the exterior with 70% isopropyl alcohol (avoid optics). Do not submerge or autoclave. Treat the lens like professional camera equipment.
Warranty
5-year warranty on parts and labor. Battery is covered for 1 year.
Disposal
Dispose of the lithium-ion battery and electronics separately from household waste per local regulations.
