DermLite DL4 - Instructions for Use

Intended Use

This device is intended for medical purposes to illuminate body surfaces for non-invasive visual examination of intact skin by professionals in healthcare settings.

CAUTION: Do not look directly into the LED light. Patients must close their eyes during use.

CAUTION: Do not use in fire or explosive risk environments.

WARNING: This product may expose you to chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm.

Getting Started

Charge the internal lithium-ion battery before initial use. The DL4 is compatible with smartphones and uses cross- or non-polarized light with 10x magnification.

Using the DL4

Hold 25 mm above skin with LEDs aimed at the lesion. Press power (P) or both mode buttons (POL + PB) to turn on. Move closer or farther to focus.

• Mode Switching: Briefly press any button to toggle between light modes.
• Brightness: Hold (POL) to toggle between two brightness levels.
• Focus: Rotate focus dial (FD) to extend spacer (S) for skin contact.
• Shut Off: Hold (P) or press both mode buttons. Auto shuts off after 3 minutes.

PigmentBoost®

Press (PB) briefly to activate white + orange light. Hold (PB) for 1 sec for orange-only mode. Press (PB) or (POL) to exit.

Photography

Use magnetic adapters (sold separately) with the extension ring (ER). Clean the faceplate (FP) and extend spacer (S) to “0” before imaging.

Faceplate Removal

Remove faceplate (FP) by pulling at the fingernail notches.

IceCap®

Snap a disposable IceCap over the faceplate for infection control. Remove after use.

Battery & Charging

CAUTION: Use only the official 3.7V 1400 mAh lithium-ion battery. Monitor for deterioration signs.

• Charge with supplied USB-C cable to a standard USB port.
• Charge Indicator (CI) shows battery level via 4 LEDs.
• To replace: Unscrew battery cap (BC), disconnect plug (BP), replace battery (BT), and reassemble.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

Visit www.dermlite.com/service or contact your dealer. No modifications allowed. Clean exterior with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not immerse or autoclave.

Warranty

5 years for parts and labor. 1-year battery warranty.

Disposal

Device contains electronics and a lithium-ion battery. Dispose separately per local regulations.
