Dermlite GL - Directions for Use

Intended Use

This device is intended for non-invasive visual examination of intact skin. It is for use by trained healthcare professionals only.

CAUTION: Do not look directly into the LED light. Patients should close eyes during examinations.

CAUTION: Not for use in fire or explosion-prone environments.

WARNING: Contains chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm (e.g., methylene chloride, hexavalent chromium).

Overview

The DermLite GL is a polarized light examination tool with two magnification levels (6x and 1.4x), a 40 mm scale, and smartphone compatibility.

Operation

  • Hold device 25–50 mm above skin with LEDs aimed at area of interest.
  • Press the Power button (P) to activate one group of LEDs.
  • Press again to toggle to the second LED group (other magnification lens).
  • Look through the lens and adjust distance to focus.
  • Device turns off automatically after 3 minutes or manually with long press.

Cap and Spacer

  • Cap: Slide the protective cap (C) over the optical end after use. It can be stored on the tail end during operation.
  • Spacer: For 6x magnification photos, attach the Spacer (S), ensuring it aligns with the notch (N).

Photography

Attach to mobile devices using DermLite adapters (sold separately). Clean lens and attach the spacer if using the higher magnification.

Battery and Charging

CAUTION: Use only the official 3.7V 1300 mAh lithium-ion battery supplied by DermLite.

  • Check battery via 4-level Charge Indicator (CI).
  • Charge with USB-C to USB cable. Pulsing LEDs show charging progress.
  • All 4 LEDs stay lit when fully charged.
  • Battery replacement must be done by contacting DermLite or your dealer.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

Visit www.dermlite.com/service for support. Clean the exterior with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not submerge or autoclave. No modifications permitted.

Warranty

5-year warranty on parts and labor. Battery warranty is 1 year.

Disposal

Dispose of lithium-ion battery and electronics separately per local regulations.
